Job Title – Engineer – Quality Control (QA & QC)

The QAQC Engineer is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance and quality control processes on commercial building construction projects. This includes ensuring that all construction activities, materials, and workmanship comply with the project’s specifications, applicable codes, and client requirements. The role involves conducting inspections, coordinating with site teams, maintaining documentation, and ensuring a safe and quality-centric work environment.

Key deliverables:

  •  Quality Assurance:
    o Develop and implement QA/QC plans and procedures based on project requirements.
    o Ensure that all construction activities comply with company standards, client requirements, and regulatory codes
    o Review and ensure that all materials and workmanship meet the project’s specifications and quality standards
  • Quality Control:
    o Conduct regular inspections and tests on materials, equipment, and installations
    o Perform quality audits on subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams
    o Monitor non-conformance issues and initiate corrective actions where required
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    o Maintain up-to-date and accurate QA/QC documentation, including daily site reports, test results, inspection logs, and non-conformance reports (NCRs)
    o Prepare weekly and monthly QAQC progress reports for management and client review
    o Ensure all construction drawings, method statements, and procedures are approved and up to-date
  •  Compliance & Codes:
    o Ensure all activities comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards
    o Liaise with third-party inspectors, government officials, and certification bodies for compliance inspections and certifications
  •  Collaboration & Coordination:
    o Work closely with the project management team, site engineers, and construction managers to resolve quality-related issues
    o Interface with design engineers, procurement teams, and suppliers to ensure material compliance
    o Coordinate with client representatives during quality inspections and handover processes
  •  Training & Continuous Improvement:
    o Provide training to site staff on quality procedures, inspection techniques, and documentation processes
    o Recommend improvements in the QA/QC processes to optimize quality and reduce defects
  •  Key Qualifications:
    o Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  •  Experience:
    o Minimum 5-8 years of experience in QA/QC roles, with specific experience in commercial and residential building construction
    o Experience with large-scale construction projects is preferred
  • Skills:
    o Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality standards
    o Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ASTM, ASME, etc.)
    o Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
    o Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools
    o Knowledge of QA/QC tools and systems (e.g., Punch List, Non-Conformance Reports, Inspection Test Plans
    o Developing and implementing quality standards
    o Developing and implementing quality control systems as per company policy
    o Monitoring and analyzing quality performances
    o Inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes and products to ensure quality specifications are met& site inspections as per the project requirements
    o Collaborating with Project Head to develop and implement controls and improvements as per the required strategies
    o Ensuring that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations
    o Developing corrective actions, solutions, improvements& control strategies
    o Reviewing codes, specifications, practice and processes
  •  Desired Requirements:
    o Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  •  Experience:
    o Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in QA/QC roles, with specific experience in commercial and residential building construction.
    o Experience with large-scale construction projects is preferred
    o Experience in quality engineering, quality assurance and associated parameters
    o Sound knowledge and experience in using relevant software tools and processes
    o Good communication and interpersonal and project management kills
    o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
